In honor of Pride Month: A projection installation featuring queer activists Bayard Rustin, Cece McDonald, James Baldwin, Lena Waithe, Nina Simone, and Angela Davis was displayed on the Asheville Art Museum as well as portraits of some of the souls who were stolen in 2020.
In the wake of the senseless deaths of George Floyd, Nina Pop, Breonna Taylor, Rem Mie Falls, Tony McDade and countless others, I created this series of portraits to honour the life and light that they each held and lost due to white supremacy. The march for equal treatment and respect for Queer and BIPOC lives continues in the multifaceted face of bias and bigotry.
